I-5 Portland Avenue to Port of Tacoma Road – Northbound HOV

As part of the Tacoma/Pierce County HOV Program, the project widened northbound I-5 to provide room for one HOV lane to increase capacity and improve freeway access between Portland Avenue to Port of Tacoma Road.

1 Alliance performed roadway and structural surveying services to support seismic upgrades and roadway improvements. The survey team was responsible for performing calculations, surveying, and measuring for setting, maintaining, and resetting all alignment stakes, slope stakes, and grades.

The Northbound HOV project consisted of several small bridge and ground improvements, new on and off-ramps, and a large bridge over the Puyallup River.
